Marko Balaban currently serves as the Director of Programming & Awards at the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, a national, member-based, professional organization that is dedicated to promotion and celebration of outstanding achievements in Canadian film, television, and digital media industries.

 

He is responsible for the direction and execution of the annual Canadian Screen Awards, while also overseeing year-round Academy programming initiatives.

 

Originally from Montenegro, Marko studied Architecture at the University of Montenegro before moving to Canada, where he graduated from University of Toronto.
